"Adventures with Abuela" is a series of bilingual children's books that takes the reader on an adventure with Rio, his Abuela and other members of the family. The stories are interesting, beautifully illustrated, based on three Chicago Institutions to date (Brookfield Zoo, Shedd Aquarium and Museum of Science and Industry) and written by author/grandmother Virginia Martinez. The author wants to encourage parents to not only read to their children but to also take them to the wonderous treasures that we have in Chicago.
