On offer this Mud Ball is a stunning vase by the celadon master himself, Andy Shaw! Specializing in functional pieces, Shaw believes wholeheartedly in the power of touch and the connection that forms between maker and user. As Shaw himself put it: "If in the relationship between my work and another person, the pots assist in revealing aspects of personal potential and of more generous self-reflections, then I have succeeded in creating objects."

With a circular base and a rounded cylinder on top, this vase would be the perfect addition to any home or office. Though monochrome, the surface is decorated with grid lines broken by the occasional circle.

In addition to being a frequent exhibitor and favorite shop artist, Shaw was a Resident Artist at The Clay Studio from 2006 to 2008. Once a teacher at Louisiana State University, Shaw now lives in North Carolina where he continues his artistic practice.
