Own a remarkable piece of horse-racing history when you win this June 19, 1978 Sports Illustrated magazine that captures on its cover the moment that Affirmed - ridden by jockey (and New Day Ranch board member) Steve Cauthen - won the Belmont, and in turn, became the 11th Triple Crown winner in history!

For the last half mile of the mile-and-a-half "test of the champion," Affirmed and Alydar ran head to head. At the finish, with a crowd of 65,417 at Belmont Park and a television audience of millions, Affirmed's head was still in front. Not since 1962, when Jaipur beat Admiral's Voyage by a nose, had there been a closer finish. And never has a Triple Crown sweep been sealed by such a narrow margin. It took a photo finish camera to determine that Affirmed had won by a head.

The magazine comes with a protective black "floating" photo frame. Steve will autograph the magazine with an inscription of the winner's choice.

Steve is the only jockey ever named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year.
