The Leukemia Ball

For more than three decades, the Leukemia Ball has reigned as one of Greater Washington, D.C.'s largest, non-political black tie events. The Ball has raised over $70 million for the Mid-Atlantic Region of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society since it began in 1988.

Having grown from 375 guests to more than 2,000, the Leukemia Ball presents star-studded entertainment that in past years has included Jerry Seinfeld, Smokey Robinson, Jay Leno, Hootie & The Blowfish, Foreigner, Huey Lewis & The News, Diana Ross, Barenaked Ladies, Jim Gaffigan, Andy Grammer, O.A.R. and Kathleen Madigan.

In 2020 and 2021, we offered a Virtual Leukemia Ball due to the COVID-19 Pandemic featuring entertainment by Sheryl Crow and Damien Escobar. In 2022, we officially returned to having an in-person celebration following safety guidelines.
The magical evening includes dinner, dancing, an inspirational program, headline entertainment, auctions, and a car raffle!

Planning for the Leukemia Ball is spearheaded by the Executive Committee - a group of more than 40 dedicated business leaders in the Washington, D.C. area. This event could not happen without the generous support of our leadership and partners.
