HOW IT WORKS
The 11th Annual Pop-Up Picnic helps raise funds that support Waterloo Greenway Conservancy's mission of creating and maintaining an extraordinary urban park system, in partnership with the City of Austin, for the benefit of all. Pre-purchase your picnic basket(s) online or pack your own to bring with you. All baskets include a meal for two to be picked up at the event from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Beer, wine, specialty cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and a limited number of select picnic baskets will be available for purchase on site.
INTERESTED IN BEING A POP-UP PICNIC VIP?
Purchase a Picnic Friend Forever (PFF) package, which includes parking and a picnic blanket. All purchases support Waterloo Greenway's year-round free community programs. We look forward to celebrating with you!
HOW DO I GET TO THE PICNIC & WHERE CAN I PARK?
Pop-Up Picnic is located at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park (1401 Trinity Street). Paid parking is available at the Capitol Visitors Parking Garage located at 1201 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX 78701.
DO I NEED TO RSVP TO THE PICNIC?
No, Pop-Up Picnic is free and open to the public! No RSVP or ticket required. You can bring your own picnic and enjoy Pop-Up Picnic activities and entertainment. You can also purchase a picnic basket that will benefit Waterloo Greenway Conservancy at wgpicnic.com.
WHAT IS THE RAIN PLAN FOR THE PICNIC?
Should we need to cancel Pop-Up Picnic due to hazardous weather, we will inform you via email. In the event of a cancellation, baskets will still be available for pick-up on April 1st at Moody Amphitheater (1401 Trinity St.) from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM. This will be a drive-thru pickup and the picnic baskets will be delivered to your vehicle.
More details will be provided in the event of inclement weather.
MAY I BRING MY OWN FOOD TO THE PICNIC?
Yes, all guests are encouraged to bring their own spread! All baskets will be searched before entry into the park. NO GLASS OR ALCOHOL ALLOWED
IS THE PICNIC BYOB?
No. Due to TABC permit regulations, guests may not bring outside alcohol to the event. Beer, wine, and specialty cocktails will be available for purchase on-site, where all sales benefit Waterloo Greenway Conservancy. Guests are welcome to bring their own non-alcoholic, factory-sealed beverages or empty water bottles. NO GLASS OR ALCOHOL ALLOWED.
CAN I PURCHASE BASKETS AT THE EVENT?
A limited number of baskets will be available for purchase on site. All other baskets must be purchased in advance at wgpicnic.com.
WHERE AND WHEN CAN I PICK UP BASKETS?
If you purchased a basket, you may pick it up between 6:00 - 7:30 PM on Saturday, April 1st at Moody Amphitheater. You will check in at the Mattsson-McHale Plaza with the basket purchaser's last name. Please have a copy of your confirmation email (either printed or on your phone) with you. Baskets are non-refundable and cannot be held past 7:30 PM.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED AT THE PICNIC?
Yes! Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome!
