Constructed of native Limestone The Snyder Memorial Arch is located at the Main Entrance to Snyder Park on Western Ave. in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.
Built in 1895 as a Memorial to brothers John and David Snyder, millers, who donated the 200+ acres of parkland on both sides of the mighty Buck Creek that later became Snyder Park to the City of Springfield.
It was Designed by Landscape Architect, Herman Haerlin (1832-1905) a native of Württemberg Germany, who made his home in Cincinnati and also designed much of the campus of The Ohio State University and Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati.
