Marty Sherman is a retired pediatrician, Fiddlesticks resident and accomplished painter, whose works are sold chiefly through the COCO Art Galleries, nonprofit cooperatives operated by the Art Council of Southwest Florida. Over the last few years, after retiring from his medical practice, Marty has devoted his full attention to create works using acrylics, charcoal and glazes on canvas. As he is red-green color blind, Marty's creative offerings are known for their interesting and distinctive uses of color and light.
This work, "Number 12 Revisited," is Marty's interpretation of the 12th hole on the Fiddlesticks Loch Ness course, a devilishly tricky par-3. The deep blues and greens of the water-which has captured all too many errant shots-contrast wonderfully well the highlighted realms of the green and its approach area. This 36" by 36" (unframed) painting is sure to conjure up vivid memories of your own experiences on this signature hole.
