Luis Sottil, a native of Tampico, Mexico, paints in the Naturalismo style-using colors extracted from nature to depict nature. From the penetrating blues derived from the cochinilla insect to intense purple hues that come from the beet vegetable to ethereal orange colors that emanate from the achiole seed, Sottil has mastered the art of capturing nature's most sublime and mesmerizing beauty on canvas. He is the first Latin American painter to be named by the Walt Disney Company as an official artist for Disney Fine Art.

In this 36" by 49" brilliant GiClee on Canvas, Sottil colorfully captures a Lion Fish as it swims across the sea as a school of other fish lazily pass in the other direction. Sottil uses natural pigments and hues, found in his native land, to portray nature as it "feels" rather than merely how it "looks". This stunning painting will create exceptional talk value in any room in which it is placed.

This painting will be available for inspection at the Fiddlesticks clubhouse on February 15 and 16 and then at auction preview February 17 and 18.
