Three generations of the Huber family have considered Hogback Mountain their home, celebrating some of their most cherished memories on the property. With a commitment to hospitality
and the rich agrarian traditions of Western Loudoun, the Huber family hoped to share the beautiful views and property with others to enjoy their big life moments and preserve the land's agricultural beauty. Wine connoisseurs before entering the industry, Mike & Kristi Huber's dedication to quality implored them to bring in top consultants in the industry to
analyze the terroir of their 400-acre estate to see if producing world-class wine would be possible here. From there, Mike & Kristi began their mission to
enhance the lives of our community through sharing the experience of premium estate-grown wines and exceptional hospitality. The greatest wines in the world all have one thing in common: a focus on the terroir that sources the world-class wines. Great winemaking begins in the vineyards, and with the challenges posed by Virginia's climate, mountain vineyard sites have proven to be resilient in the region's high rainfall and humidity thanks to their well-drained soils, undulating topography, and improved airflow. With our estate vines located atop Hogback Mountain, our vineyard's unique meso-climate possesses all three of these characteristics. Since 2009, we have been cultivating our vineyards to craft wines of exceptional quality. We focus on classic French varietals of chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, and the reds that make up our Bordeaux-style blends - cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot & petit verdot - but the varying aspects and soils of our vineyard also allow us the opportunity to play with smaller lots of viognier, nebbiolo, pinot noir, and Rhone white varietals. Every growing season in Virginia is unique; we never know exactly what challenges or gifts nature will bestow upon us. Our time-tested, traditional winemaking style allows the fruit to shine. Stone Tower wines speak the story of each vintage - they are both uniquely Virginian and world-class. Whether you want to stop by for a casual glass of wine and a bite to eat, explore the vineyards & cellar on a guided tour, or plan a celebration with friends, with our two distinct Tasting Rooms and wide range of options, we have your plans covered. The Harvest Barn, our original Tasting Room, offers a welcoming Virginia wine country experience open to families (pets too!) and operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. Here you can enjoy tastings of our wines, sip by the glass, or enjoy a bottle along with delicious food from our culinary team, in our quaint, open-air barn or on the large outdoor terrace.
The Tower View Tasting Room is open exclusively for our adult (21+) Club Members and offers truly stunning panoramic views of the property.
