Winemaker Notes:
The 2019 Signature Merlot is at once seamless and complex, promising a rewarding wine experience right now and for a decade to come. Deep floral and enticing dark plum aromas introduce a poised and polished 2019 Merlot. Winegrowing on our high elevation Sage Vineyard on Mount Veeder provides power and earthy complexity to the wine's core, while our valley floor estates lend a more saturated profile of vibrant fruits. A refined medley of dark Rainier cherries and dried cranberries are accentuated by savory notes of oolong tea, cinnamon stick, and Tahitian vanilla.

  • Bottle Size: 750mL
  • Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir
  • Barrel aging: 10 Months in 30% New French Oak (François Frères)
  • Appellation: Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County
  • Vineyard: Bob's Ranch and Select Vineyard Partners
  • Vintage Notes: "The alluring 2021 vintage is remarkable for its low yields, which resulted in an extra degree of concentration in our wines. In a second year of drought, the vines grew quickly in the warm spring weather while our team judiciously managed watering block by block. By summer, the vines had set a lighter than average crop, and cooler weather in August allowed time for vineyard passes to finetune the fruit load and manage the canopy. After a smooth harvest season, we are excited about the flavor-packed 2021's." - Walt Wines
