What do Brent PTA funds pay for?

Nearly 100% of Brent's non-personnel operating costs! That's over $266,000 per year and includes building and grounds maintenance, teacher development, technology and school supplies, community engagement events, social-emotional support programs for the children, and more.


How much should I give?

While we hope that 100% of Brent households participate in the Annual Fund, every family should decide for itself what amount is right. In the past, donations have ranged from $25 to $5,000+. If your family is in a position to give more generously this year, we hope you'll think about how much you value being a part of the Brent community - a diverse, high-quality public school in the heart of Capitol Hill that educates students from across the city. As a data point, the Brent PTA spends over $600 per student per year. Please remember that every donation - no matter how big or small - helps us reach our goals and shows your support for the Brent community.


How should I donate to the 2023 Annual Fund?

You can donate online here or by check. If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to the Brent PTA and leave it at the front office or bring it to a PTA morning coffee.


Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes! Those donate on this GiveSmart site will automatically receive a tax receipt to the email address provided. If you pay by check, a PTA Treasurer can provide you with a tax document.


Do you support corporate matching donations?

Yes! Matching donations programs are a fantastic way to increase your giving. Please let us know if you need any support for this.
