The Class of 2030, Nichols 5th graders worked together to create individual petals using various methods of watercolors. When placed together each individual petal creates a larger abstract flower that shows our unique 5th grade class coming together to create something beautiful.
This work was created on a 24 inch x 36 inch gallery wrapped canvas using archival art materials.
The Class of 2029, Nichols sixth graders utilized their knowledge of Pointillism and optical blending to pay homage to the City of Buffalo by creating a silhouette of a buffalo in a colorful sunset that showcases reds, blues, purples, and pinks. This image is comprised of thousands and thousands of dots! T

The Class of 2028, Nichols 7th graders worked together utilizing their experimental mark making skills to create a collage using a mixture of textures, paper, and metallic colors. Students were inspired by local street artists and murals in Buffalo. This work is made using archival papers and measures 18 inches x 24 inches. Image is framed and ready to hang!
Class of 2027, Nichols eighth graders splashed, dotted, salted, and dropped watercolor paints to create an abstract background. Students used their unique mark making skills to create emphasis and draw patterns around the shapes created by the paint. Students then cut the paper to create a pattern to create a cohesive work of art that shows warm and cool colors. This work is made using archival papers and materials and measures 18 inches x 24 inches. This piece is framed and ready to hang!
