Artist Statement: In Tarot, the High Priestess is typically associated with spiritual energy, intuition and feeling, and the divine feminine. She is often depicted between two pillars, representing light and dark, good and evil, and other binaries - though she rests between them. How fitting, then, that this High Priestess, inspired by Alok Vaid-Menon, exists apart from typical binaries of masculine and feminine. They have full lips and long hair, like a woman; and also chest hair and a five o'clock shadow, like a man. Let the High Priestess be a reminder.
