Stripers, albies and blues, oh my!

Montauk, located at the east end of Long Island, is one of America's great fisheries. In the fall, baitfish moving out of Long Island Sound meet those migrating south from Massachusetts and Maine in Montauk, and waiting to intercept them are predators of every stripe. During this "fall blitz", anglers target striped bass, false albacore and bluefish, often by fishing enormous "boils" of feeding fish. It is a high adrenaline end of the fishing season. During the summer you can sight cast to large stripers in shallow waters, more akin to the Bahamas or the Keys than New York.

For three nights and two days, you and three friends will fish Montauk from your private house on Lake Montauk, and you will be guided by legendary guide Paul Dixon and/or some of his other captains. Paul pioneered the Montauk fly fishery more than 30 years ago and is still considered its top expert. Paul has also dedicated himself to conserving the fishery for future generations.

Included: Three nights lodging, two days of guided fishing for four anglers.

Restrictions: Not included: Transportation, meals, gratuities. Valid on mutually agreeable dates. Expires 4/19/24.

Value: $7,500
