From here, Elliotsville Foundation (EFI) will meet and transport up to 4 guests to their Northwoods base in Patten Maine, close to the northern section of Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument their first day. They will spend the next 3 days and 3 nights exploring the National Monument from north to south with long time Elliotsville Foundation recreation managers Mark and Susan Adams. The auction winners will need to plan well in advance with their guides their adventures, depending on the season, abilities, and desires of their group. All ground transportation , biking and canoeing gear and meals included.

Options can include mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, fishing and hunting in and around the monument. They will stay 2 nights at the EFI base in Patten, Maine, and, the 3rd night, in a cozy cabin at the New England Outdoor Center in the shadow of Katahdin. Weather permitting, they will board a Katahdin Air float plane and take a scenic morning flight over the KWW National Monument circumventing the famous monolith, Katahdin . During these 4 days they will be treated to delicious meals, fun adventures and lots of warm Northwoods' hospitality.

Roosevelt traveled throughout this region with his Maine Guides, Bill Sewall and Wilmot Dow, who later accompanied him to the Dakota Territory and to whom he dedicated his 1919 essay, My Debt to Maine. A tour of the Sewall House, in Island Falls Maine, still owned by Bill Sewall's great granddaughter, could also be an option, time permitting.
