Weddle was an American football safety in the NFL and played for the San Diego Chargers for nine seasons, Baltimore Ravens for three seasons, and first retired with the Los Angeles Rams in 2019. Two years later, he returned to the Rams on their playoff run and helped his team secure the victory in 2022 at Super Bowl LVI. Shortly after their championship, Weddle retired a second time. In 2023, Weddle assumed the role as Varsity Head Coach of Rancho Bernardo High School's football program.
