Join Michel Thibault and Marla Norman on February 21, 2024 for this special dinner featuring incredibly rare, difficult to source Bordeaux first growth wines. Hosted at the home of Dann & Colette Schwartz and paired with the culinary talent of Jack McGuckin, owner and executive chef of Bijoux, Michel and Marla will take you on a journey with the estates that have been designated for decades as the best in the region and by many estimates, the best in the world.

Petit Cheval Blanc Bordeaux Blanc

The evening will begin with a sublime, complex blend of Sauvignon and Semillon. One of the most prestigious properties within the Saint-Emilion appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank, this magnificent property receives 100-point ratings for its wines year after year.

2018 Chateau Pavie and 2012 Chateau Cheval Blanc

Dating back to Roman times, Chateau Pavie takes its name from the orchards of peaches that grew on the estate. The mostly-Merlot wines are highly rated and prized for their concentrated, intense style.

Chateau Cheval is one of the most prestigious properties within the Saint-Emilion appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank, this magnificent property receives 100-point ratings for its wines year after year.

2009 Chateau Figeac and 2006 Chateau Margaux

Recently classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classe A property, Chateau Figeac's unique terroir is characterized by three prehistoric glaciers and gravel knolls of quartz and flint over a subsoil of iron- rich blue clay. In keeping with the nature of this soil, Figeac is a Right Bank estate with the highest percentage of Cabernet. This atypical combination accounts for wines that are elegant, long-lived, and extremely sought-after.

Chateau Margaux dates back to the 12th century. The wines produced on this incredibly diverse terroir are considered some of the most elegant and refined of the region with an instantly identifiable, perfumed nose.

2017 Chateau Haut Brion and 2014 Chateau Mouton Rothschild

With an ancient history dating back to 1423, the estate has a long connection with the U.S. Haut-Brion wines were favorites of Thomas Jefferson, who deemed them "the very best Bordeaux wine." American banker, Clarence Dillon bought the Chateau in 1935 and his great grandson, Prince Robert of Luxembourg, manages the estate to this day.

Acquired by the Rothschild family in 1853, this Pauillac property flourished under the management of Baron Philippe de Rothschild, who was the first Bordeaux producer to begin bottling on the estate and later began to use the works of internationally known artists such as Picasso, Miro, Chagall, and Dali to label his bottles. The Mouton bottle chosen for this event was produced by David Hockney.

2012 Chateau Latour and 2003 Chateau d'Yquem

Dating back to 1331, Chateau Latour is named for the famous tower that has guarded the vineyards for centuries. The Grand Vin is made exclusively from "vieilles vignes" that are an average of 60 years old.

Chateau d'Yquem is the only Sauternes given a First Growth rating, Yquem has produced wine since 1711. Today, the estate is owned by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy who oversee the painstaking production of botrytized grapes used to produce the lush, sweet, ethereal wines of Sauternes.
