Mike Wright, a retired professional baseball player, was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the 2011 draft from East Carolina University. With a total of 12 seasons of professional baseball experience, including eight seasons at the AAA level, he pitched for the Orioles, Seattle Mariners, Chicago White Sox, and Los Angeles Dodgers (AAA). He debuted in 2015 and pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings against the L.A. Angels. In 2020, he won the Korean Series with the NC Dinos of the Korean Baseball Organization. During his college years, Wright helped his team reach the Super Regional in 2009 and the regional appearance in 2011. His high school career included two consecutive semi-final appearances with Whiteville High School. Much of Wright's early development as a pitcher took place under the expert instruction of NC legend Linwood Hedgepeth, who was inducted into the 2019 Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame. With a passion for coaching, Wright aims to bring "new school" technology and an "old school" grinding mentality to help youth athletes realize their full potential through humility, respect, dedication, and hard work.
