Good Night 2023

Throw on your favorite kicks and party clothes and join us for the 15th annual Good Night event at Wildwood Park for the Arts!  Good Night Suits and Sneakers will be an unforgettable evening of food, music, auctions and fun to celebrate the continuously growing sports, arts, and family support programs offered through Community Connections to children with special needs around the state.

Good Night Suits and Sneakers VIP Pavilion at Wildwood Park for the Arts

Wildwood Park for the Arts is home to Little Rock's unique botanical gardens and the Lucy Lockett Cabe Festival Theatre.  A center for the arts located in West Little Rock's Chenal Valley, Wildwood's 105-acre park, gardens and 625-seat theatre complex make Wildwood one of our state's most valuable natural and cultural resources.

With separate but connected areas for food and drinks, auctions, dancing and designated VIP area for silver, gold and presenting sponsors, Good Night Suits and Sneakers will comfortably accommodate more attendees than ever before! 

Live Music by Darnell Paul, Piano for Life

Darnell Paul, a Community Connections participant and talented pianist, will provide live music at this year's Good Night Suits and Sneakers event.  Darnell has overcome many medical challenges, including being born 17 weeks early and being hospitalized over 8 months. Even so, life can be a bit confusing when you don't always understand what people are saying and have trouble remembering. 

Darnell thrives with connection and didn't really find his place until his family found Community Connections. The bonds he formed with the coaches, volunteers, and teammates gave him a sense of belonging. His coaches encouraged and supported him, even when he went left when they said right. Over the last 11 years Darnell has participated in RUFL Football, TOP soccer, basketball, tennis, triathlon, bowling, art, sports camp, teen game group, and the Young Adult Social Group. 

He gained the confidence to believe he could do anything. Darnell is now a self-taught pianist who plays by ear and enjoys playing in the community and bringing music to people. You can follow his music on Facebook at Piano for Life. 

2023 Good Night Suits and Sneakers Chair:  Kathy Wild

Kathy grew up in Central Arkansas and is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has had a long career in the sales world and has previously chaired several major charity events including Wildwood's Vine and Dine, SpectacUALR, and the Wild Game Dinner for Episcopal Collegiate School. Kathy and her husband have three boys and reside in West Little Rock. When Kathy is not working or chairing events, she is busy as a team mom for her boys' activities.

Community Connections is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality extra-curricular activities for children with special needs and support for their families. In 2022 we served more than 1,300 kids across the state of Arkansas.

Community Connections programs are offered FREE of charge and include soccer, theatre, basketball, cheer, flag football, sports camps, tennis, art, volleyball, martial arts, bowling, golf, swim, and teen/young adult social outings. Community Connections has also added several new resources for families, including respite care events, mental health support, a mentoring program, support groups and resources for Spanish speaking caregivers of children with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

We have expanded our sports and arts programs and currently offer activities in Conway, Little Rock, Sherwood, Russellville, Northwest Arkansas, Fort Smith, Batesville, Texarkana, Morrilton, and Saline County. All of our programs are offered FREE of charge to children with special needs and their families- because of support from people like you!  Thank you!
