Created with volcanic sand, ultramarine pigment and glow in the dark pigment on canvas, this framed abstract piece by former WSB art teacher, Edna Emmet, will bring light to your home in a most unusual way!

The 2 images are of the same picture - one in daylight and the other in darkness.

Artist Statement: "While I was living in a small fishing village on the northern coast of Iceland during the darkest months of the year, the sun never rose above the horizon and snow was covering the volcanic, rugged, black landscape with frozen waterfalls. The mythology of Norse Myths was alive all around. This artwork is painted with the volcanic sand from the beach and to express the longing for the dancing Northern lights and color each painting has hidden within it another image illuminated in total darkness."

Donated by Edna Emmet (Former WSB Art Teacher)
