In many Tribes, the turtle has symbolizm associated to Mother Earth. The turtle also represents Wisdom, Protection, Health, and Safety. Hairpipe has been used for many centuries by Indigenous peoples. Traditionally, they were used in Chokers, Bracelets, Necklaces and Breastplates. I have created this piece to signify the connection between Western and Indigenous Cultures and how we can connect as one.
