Description/Inspiration:
This art piece was inspired by my grandparents, who have been married for 62 years. I saw them as young honeymooners cruising on ol' pothole roads to the place where their heart lives- home. A place that is rugged, abundant, and simply beautiful all at once. Maybe with these two, all it took was a look at one another saying "skoden" to keep the adventure rolling.

Artist Bio/Statement:

Yá'át'ééh, I am Sleepy Rock, born for Honeycomb Rock, my maternal grandfather is the Salt clan, and paternal grandfather is the Waters Edge clan. I am a Diné Asdzaa/ Navajo woman, from Burnside, Arizona which is located on Dinétah. My name is Chelsie, I'm an emerging artist who has been creating acrylic art pieces for the past couple years. Like many Indigenous artists, my inspiration comes from all relatives in life, creating what comes to mind in hope is that it resonates with good and empowering feelings.
