Description/Inspiration:

A symbol of the morning star. Among the Great Plains people it was understood that if you saw the morning star the creator had given you another day of life.

It was also believed that the great spirit gave stars power to watch over mortals on earth and impart to them spiritual blessings.

Ribbon Skirts can have a meaning of strength and connection to the earth.

Artist Bio/Statement:

Angel Cadotte is a Bismarck-Mandan community member and artist. Angel started AC Quilting in November of 2021. Learning the skill of sewing from her grandmother as a teen, she wants to share this knowledge with others. Sewing brings people together as well as let's us share our creative expression with one another.
