Artist Bio/Statement:

Susan Sandfly has been designing and producing one of-a-kind creations in her home, at Big Island Lake Cree Nation. She started with ribbon skirts and shirts and then in 2016 she expanded to footwear. Susan's participation in dancing inspired her to create a unique style of footware that no one else had. Her footware collection has had sales from Ontario to BC and has crossed the border into North and South Dakota and Arizona, USA. Susan's collection of fashion also includes belts and Fedora hats. Mequan Creeation came to life and hit the stage in the fall of 2009, when Susan independently hosted a fashion show to open for a concert at Big Island Lake School. Since that opening, Susan has been invited to many fashion shows and continues to create beautiful work! This past month, Susan's "Red Earth" dress traveled overseas to showcase on the Paris fashion runways! Dreams do come true.
