Description/Inspiration:

This piece reminded me of something you would see if you took magic mushrooms so i named it gayda ts'uuts' (mushroom).

Artist Bio/Statement:

Hello, my name is keiah. I am a part of the Nisga'a tribe and wolf clan on my mother's side. My tribe originates from Fraser Valley in B.C. Canada. (Laxgalts'ap Village). I am passionate about art and my heritage. I was born in Quebec, Canada. I moved to the Kootenays when i was 5 and have lived here ever since. I was never really introduced into my indigenous side but my creations help me to connect closer to that side of me and learn my ancestors language. I have always been creative and artistic so i was inspired to incorporate my ideas with my native side. This can also bring awareness to those who are indigenous but not in touch with their culture.
