Description/Inspiration:
A dream like portrayal of Popeye the sailor man. Vivid colors splash across the stretched canvas in a flurry of abstract expression entangled with jagged lines using mixed mediums.
Artist Bio/Statement:
Joeseph Arnoux (Piikani/Sp'q'n'i) works diligently and steadily in Albuquerque, NM as a teaching artist, cyclist mentor, and muralist. Originally born in Spokane, WA and raised in Holland, MI, he moved to the South West in 2010. He currently attends Institute of American Indian Arts, where he studies Studio/Fine Arts and mentors with Native American Community Academy. His focus is in two- and three-dimensional works consisting of drawing, printing, painting, photography, small metals/jewelry, beading/weaving, etc.
