Peace Love and Puppies Blackhat Humane Society is a not for profit organization established in 2000 to address the problem of over population of dogs and cats on the Navajo Reservation. We are a growing group of volunteers, with widespread support, whose main goal is to foster abandoned animals, acclimating them to family life, and providing the animals with medical care, including free spay and neuter.
Terry, a client in Cortez, and her Host Home Provider have been fostering puppies for Blackhat for six years. Terry prefers the very little ones that will sit in her lap getting lots of love and kisses. She is very clear when it is time for them to go home.
