On April 28th, 31 working dogs were seized by state and local authorities in an absolutely horrifying animal cruelty case in where K-9s were allegedly shot and killed. The Hometown Foundation has a long history and strong competence in the Animal Rescue and Police Dog area. Most recently, The Hometown Foundation donated more than 30 Police K-9s's, rescued dogs from natural disaster areas and supported efforts in removing dogs from meat markets. On August 8th, the state turned over 13 K-9s to the foundation to assist in the remaining efforts.
BlackRock Kennels underwent investigation after being accused of abusing and shooting dogs that they deemed were no longer necessary for its business. When the dogs were turned over to us they were malnourished and are in serious need of assistance which included dietary and health needs. When the Hometown Foundation Inc. heard of this news, we knew we had to take immediate action.
The Hometown Foundation, Inc. stepped in to help adopt and relocate the 13 service dogs. The K-9s were bred and trained to be service dogs for Law Enforcement or TSA Police K-9's, our goal is to properly nurse the dogs back to good health and place them in proper loving homes or back into the Police workforce in Law Enforcement. These K-9's are in immediate need of proper nutrition, medical examinations, training, equipment and a stable environment. The Hometown Foundation, Inc. wishes to provide these basic needs to the K-9's with the help of any generous donor interested. The money raised will help cover the cost of those basic needs, as well as, providing the K-9 with training, GPS collars, bulletproof vests, and transportation to the Law Enforcement agencies in which they are placed. We recognize that our emergency response personnel First Responders dedicate their lives, and time to keeping our communities safe. Our mission is to give back to them while also doing what is right for these K-9's.
The Hometown Foundation, Inc. would greatly appreciate the consideration to sponsor one of the rescued K-9's to directly cover their immediate and long term needs. In time, we hope to place these dogs in a Police K-9 unit or in a proper and welcoming home. We would like to invite anyone to make a donation today to support our K-9 units in need and future K-9 officers that will be placed in a selected K-9 unit.
Please join us for a night to raise funds for these 13 incredible K-9's!
