The Rotary Club of Fairlawn proudly honors William H. Considine as a neighbor, friend, leader, and problem-solver in our community. A majority of Mr. Considine's life has been dedicated to serving others through his energy, passion, and commitment to improving the lives, especially those of children, in Summit County.
Bill Considine spent nearly four decades at the helm of Akron Children's Hospital, serving as the CEO and president until 2018. During his time at Akron Children's Hospital, he advocated for health and education initiatives at the national, state and local levels, positioning Akron as a leader in children's health.
Mr. Considine has held numerous leadership positions and served on a multitude of boards for healthcare, educational, and cultural organizations. His tireless effort and drive to improve our community has led to recognition by the American Red Cross, Akron Public Schools, and Summit County Children Services, just to name a few.
Most importantly, Bill has embraced the Rotarian philosophy of service above self. He remains a steadfast voice advocating for children everywhere. Bill and his wife, Rebecca, are proud champions of Summit County.
The Rotary Club of Fairlawn has raised over $1 million for children in this community and around the world since 1964. Through the Fairlawn Rotary Foundation, this year's proceeds will help local organizations that provide a large variety of support services benefiting Akron Children's Hospital, Stephen A Comunale, Jr. Family Cancer Foundation, Blick Center, and our own Fairlawn Rotary Foundation.
The Speakeasy Charity will be a fun-filled evening of dancing to a live band.. Guests at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn will enjoy a nostalgic 1930s speakeasy atmosphere. A sit-down dinner will be provided along with oral and silent auctions, raffle entries for fabulous prizes, a cash bar, and a "best-dressed" costume contest. The ticket price is $125 per person. Of course, the real winners will be the charities and children of our community.
