6 - 750ml Louis Jadot Puligny Montrachet Clos Garenne Duc de Magenta 2020 Louis Jadot, founded in 1859, is well known for its extensive négociant operation, whereby it bottles and sells wine produced by other growers. However, it also possesses holdings in some of the most illustrious vineyards in Burgundy, such as Bonnes Mares, Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières, Corton-Charlemagne, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Musigny and Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses, among others. Puligny-Montrachet is located to the south of Meursault and to the north of Chassagne-Montrachet, at the heart of the greatest white vineyards of Burgundy. The Clos de la Garenne is located next to Les Folatières, on a stony soil close to the mother rock.
This vineyard is very old and belongs to the Duc of Magenta properties. This family trusts Maison Louis Jadot to vinify this wine as well as Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle. Robert Parker rates the 2020 vintage of this wine 92-94 points and says: "Passerillage-infected aromas of orange oil, peach, barley sugar, apricot and freshly baked bread preface the 2020 Premier Cru Clos de la Garenne, a medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy wine that's ample and enveloping, with lively acids and a long, saline finish."
