It's named Mezzo.

Besides a love for woodworking, Rodney Dunham has always loved music and has been a musician for most of his life. When it came to naming the different board designs he decided to combine those two loves and used musical terms for each design name, matching some of the board details with a similar or relatable musical term.

"Mezzo" means half.

This board purposely has accent woods on only half the face of the board. This was intentional so that the larger open half could be used for laser engraving if someone would like it personalized for themselves or as a gift.

The main wood used in this board is cherry which is a beautiful closed grain hardwood with slow flowing grain patterns and is mostly a soft brownish/red color.

The accent wood on the top half is Paduak. (pa-duke) This also is a hardwood and considered an exotic wood that is imported from Central Africa. It can range in color from a pale pinkish orange to a deep brownish red.

The board dimensions are 18"L x 12"W x 1 1/2"H and has an average weight of 6.0 lbs.

There are 45 degree chamfers on the ends designed to be used as handles to lift the board.

All edges have small chamfers to add character and create smooth edges so they are not sharp or easily damaged if mishandled.

All board surfaces are sanded to an ultra smooth finish at 320 grit.

Final finish on the board is Rodney's own handmade finish of food grade mineral oil and bees wax.
