W.L. Weller whiskey is named after William Larue Weller, a distiller who is credited by some as being the first to use wheat as the secondary grain in straight bourbon as opposed to the more commonly used rye. Well Special Reserve is part of the Buffalo Trace Distillery family.

• W.L. Weller 12 Year: Made in homage to one of the bourbon's original aristocrats, W.L. Weller 12 Year Old Kentucky Bourbon continues to be crafted using Weller's wheated bourbon recipe. Aged for a minimum of 12 years, far longer than most wheated bourbons, this whiskey features aromas of creamy vanilla, caramel, and molasses that gives way to notes of candied corn, ripe fruits, cocoa powder, and dried fruits on the palate.
