Important photo by UPI Photographer Roddey Mims (1936-1982), taken in New Orleans in 1960. Del Hall is in the photo, peering into a "private school" in an old furniture store that was opened to circumvent attendance in the public schools after legislated racial integration.

Roddey Mims won Picture of the Year awards in general news in 1962 and 1963 and for general features photography in 1965. He was a photographer for the New York Times at the time of his death.
