Kanab's nickname for many years was "Little Hollywood." In the 1920s, the Parry brothers pioneered film tourism; they knew if people saw these beautiful landscapes they'd want to travel here. They also owned the tourist buses that serviced the Bryce, Zions, and Grand Canyon National Parks.
While visiting Kanab, you'll stay at the historic Parry Lodge where the brothers wined and dined actors, directors, and producers. This experience includes three nights in the John Wayne or Marene O'hara suit as well as a private off-road day tour with Kane County Film Commissioner Kelly Stowell who will take you to see locations from The Outlaw Josey Whales, Gunsmoke, The Apple Dumpling Gang, and West World. Keep the adventure going with a day excursion with Roam Outdoor company which offers ATV rides and ropes course.
