The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino Altero is a loving Sangiovese. Wonderful aromas of blackberries, raspberries, coffee, spices, and vanilla. The silky and ripe tannins make it particularly smooth on the palate. Loads of plum, dark cherry, and licorice and a very long finish. WS RP 91/100,

2019 Gevrey-Chambertin is accented by violet blossom, musk, and scorched earth. This gloriously red-berried Pinot Noir has quite a complex nose. Matured 14 to 18 months in oak (20% new), it's voluminous and rounded yet penetrates with ripe, pristine blackberry and cassis flavors. The supple, silky wine should approach peak by 2024 and improve through 2035. Rating WE 93/100.

2016 Chateau Beauregard Pomerol is a deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Beauregard is a little closed on the nose, opening to warm black plums, blackberries, and mulberries with touches of chocolate box and dried herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm, grainy, and packed with muscular fruit. Finishing long and earthy. RP Rating 94/100.

2019 Quintessa - The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is more open and effusive than the 2018 version. There are gentle floral nuances set against a backdrop of black cherries and cassis, joined by subtle notes of tobacco, cedar, and vanilla. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied, streamlined, silky and lush, nicely balanced and elegant, with a long, softly dusty finish tinged with licorice and caramel. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. RP Rating 95/100.
