Our work conserving natural resources is one of our most visible program areas. Especially because everyone loves Napatree!

In 1945, The Watch Hill Fire District purchased most of the land that comprises Napatree Point for public enjoyment and conservation of natural resources.

In 2014, the Fire District granted the Conservancy a Conservation Easement over the land it owns on Napatree Point. Since then, the Conservancy has been responsible for stewarding Napatree through monitoring and management activities that support the guidelines of the Conservation Easement.

While the majority of our conservation work takes place on Napatree, the Conservancy holds the same conservation and open space standards on all the parcels it owns.
