PRIVATE RESTORATION MOVEMENT TOUR with history professor, Steve Wolfgang, for up to 4 guests! This one-day, chauffeured tour of historic Restoration Movement sites includes full lunch, snacks and beverages. It will take place either Friday, March 17, or Saturday, March 18 (or a mutually agreed upon date with Steve in 2023) and last approximately 8 hours.

Steve will guide you through this rich, historic region as you visit gravesites of Restoration pioneers as well as many buildings, colleges, and meeting houses that had great significance during this time. Stops will include the cities of Frankfort, Midway, Georgetown, Paris, and Lexington.

Steve has led similar larger tours in the past, but the limited number for this tour will allow for an easier exchange of questions and discussion.

The Restoration Movement was a pivotal moment in the late 1700s and early 1800s that sought to restore patterns and practices of the New Testament church and called upon believers to exist simply as New Testament Christians. The roots of the movement were planted in the Great Revival held at the Cane Ridge Meetinghouse in Paris, KY.

Steve graduated from Butler University and earned an M. Div. at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary as well as an M.A. in American Intellectual History from Vanderbilt University and a Ph.D. in the History of Science and Medicine from the University of Kentucky. He has broad experience in college teaching, congregational ministry, religious and secular news broadcasting, public speaking in many venues, and ministry as pastor/elder and evangelist in the US and abroad.

*Another date with Steve may possibly be arranged in 2023 as he is often able to come to Kentucky.
