"Selfless Acts" Jayhawk Metal Sculpture

One-of-a-kind metal wall sculpture, signed by Coach Bill Self, with a shadowbox and hanging hardware.

By special permission granted to KanDo Ltd. by Kansas Athletics, local metal artist Jim Holsberger has donated a one-of-a-kind piece of KU artwork that any University of Kansas alum or fan would love hanging on their wall. But what makes this piece so special is that Coach Bill Self has signed the beak of the Jayhawk. The sculpture is made from 14-gauge aluminum with a minimum of three powder coats to provide texture, color, and protection. The signature has also been coated with a clear powder coat so it does not get wiped off. The sculpture is nestled in blue silk within a shadowbox made from cherry wood. The shadowbox comes with a sliding wooden lid for transporting and storing the piece and a glass replacement lid with a wooden edge to complete the frame if the shadowbox is used as a display case. Hanging hardware is included on the back of the box. (If you prefer, the Jayhawk can be hung without the case - remove one Phillips screw from the rear of the box to release.) Value: $2,500
