Painted on location in SpringCity, UT and finished in the studio.
This painting, for me, was a reaction to the many months of lockdown and isolation. I finally got to get back outside at an art event to enjoy not only nature, but interaction with real people! Hence the Title "Breathing Room"

Greg Newbold began drawing and painting the world around him at the age of three and has been mesmerized by nature's wonders ever since.

Greg spent over twenty years honing his unique artistic perspective creating artwork for such notable clients as Simon & Schuster, Sony Pictures, Barnes & Noble, American Express, Fedex, Harper Collins and Random House. Greg's work earned acclaim and awards from the Society of Illustrators, Society of Illustrators Los Angeles and Communication Arts among others. He is now translating those picture-making experiences into his landscape painting.

Newbold's work is included in the permanent collections of the Boy Scouts of America, Salt Lake City Corporation, Utah Transit Authority and the Springville Museum of Art, as well as numerous private collections.

His work was part of the 2019 landmark Maynard Dixon retrospective and tribute exhibition "Along the Distant Mesa" and the accompanying book by Mark Sublette.
