About the Artist:

?I am a visual artist working in ceramic sculpture and installation. I spent my childhood in Vietnam and Indonesia returning to the US as a teenager and am currently living in Philadelphia, Pa. I create assemblages that address how the natural world and human culture form interconnected systems. My visual influences include industrial infrastructures--concrete forms, roadway grids, stacks of construction materials, and decaying urban ruins. Using the formal vocabularies suggested by these everyday realities, material objects, both found and made, are assembled, layered, and piled up, evoking landfills, geological layers, and archaeological sites. I graduated in 2020 with an MFA from the University of Delaware. I make sculptures with a variety of techniques: slip casting and mold-making, bricolage, and ceramic processes (hand-building, wheel throwing and the use of extruders).
