The HSUS Stop Puppy Mills campaign exposes the commercial dog-breeding industry's darkest secrets. We conduct undercover investigations, file lawsuits against those propping up this exploitative industry, pass legislation to protect breeding dogs and puppies and empower responsible pet stores to promote adoption. Our work empties cages at puppy mills across the country and opens the door for shelter dogs to find homes. The puppy mill industry has expensive PR firms and lobbyists working overtime to keep their abusive practices in place.
