Team Education is led by Captain Doug Clery and Alternate Captain Robert Degnan. This team will be raising funds for education support services in Tampa Bay.

The Lightning team members drafted to team Education are #17 Alex Killorn, #86 Nikita Kucherov, #71 Anthony Cirelli, and #1 Brian Elliott.

Team Captain Doug Clery: "As a longtime Lightning STM known as Bluebeard (yes, my beard is blue on my drivers license), I am excited to participate in this season's Beard The Thunder campaign as Captain of the Education Team! Both of my children attended the Hillsborough County public school system from Kindergarten through 12th Grade and my wife has worked at Farnell Middle School, Mary Bryant Elementary and she currently works at Sickles High School. I got a little head start on my playoff beard this year so it would be ready for the Stadium Series game in Nashville. I hope we raise a lot of funds to provide educational resources and financial assistance to help give every student, regardless of background, family structure or economic status, the opportunity to achieve personal success."

Alternate Captain Robert Degnan: "As a teacher in Hillsborough County, I see first hand on a daily basis the obstacles that are beyond the control of many children and their families when it comes to achieving their educational goals or participating in opportunities that may never come their way again. For 25 years I have worked with children as a classroom educator, child advocate, and therapeutic drum facilitator and it has become abundantly clear to me that in order for our future to be greater than the past that came before it, we need to support the core of that positive change - our children's education and the families who are raising them. The money we raise will bridge that financial gap for tens of thousands of children who want to access a better education and the experiences that come with it. Thank you for joining the entire Education Team in becoming agents of change for our greatest natural resource - the ever developing educational, social and emotional well-being of our children."
