One week stay in historic waterfront country home - sleeps eight!

Where the country road meets the coastline sits a lovely home in a community of Onancock on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Nestled on the banks of Onancock Creek, a mile long tributary, it overlooks this protected deep-water anchorage at the edge of the Chesapeake Bay, with an unspoiled vista that has remained as it was since Capt. John Smith ventured here in the 1600's.

This updated 1930's country home, known as Pointe Nautica, sits on almost an acre of waterfront in this lovely, secluded, year-round community. The home features beautiful water views from every room, including 180 o panoramic views of the Onancock Creek and the Chesapeake Bay. A pristine nature reserve can be viewed from your own bulkheaded sandy beach area, as can ospreys fishing, an occasional peregrine falcon, blue herons, egrets, and eagles. Enjoy fishing and crabbing off the bulkhead with entry into the water from a sturdy kid-tested fold down ladder to a shallow gently sloping
sandy bottom. New fishing kayaks and paddles are provided for guests as well as a vintage surf ski for more qualified sports-oriented paddlers. You may also access a private beach for residents and guests just two blocks away as well as a deep-water marina one block away.

The home of avid naturalists, it embraces maritime history, literature, art and antiques. A spacious living room opens onto a lovely deck partially shaded by beautiful pine trees where you can grille or entertain overlooking ships passing on the water. The home is ready for entertaining and comfortably hosts eight persons with three bedrooms, one sleeper couch, and a futon. There are a total of two full bathrooms (one upstairs and one down). An outside shower (with hot water) allows you to rinse off after a swim in the Bay! A fully equipped gourmet kitchen, with new stainless appliances, overlooks the family roomand features a picture window dining area, a center island and bar stools. The kitchen also opens into a breezeway connecting the home to a two-car garage with a washer and dryer. There is home office support with a laser printer and large monitor as well as high speed internet, WiFi, streaming video and three central air conditioning and heat units.

This tranquil location is uniquely situated between destinations north and south on ESVA as well as between Bay and Atlantic Ocean. There is an endless range of activities to be enjoyed in this area of outstanding natural beauty.

Paddle or kayak over to experience the wetland communities of Parkers Marsh Natural Area Preserve which provide habitat for a variety of plant and animal species, including migrating waterfowl, shorebirds and songbirds. The marsh has been designated an Audubon Important Bird Area as part of the Delmarva Bayside Marshes and is a favorite picnic site for locals.

This home offers the very best of the Eastern Shore. Modern facilities in a landscape that has not changed in hundreds of years and in which you can truly relax.
