Bordeaux 2005
Summary: This vintage met all the conditions for a great year and has gone down as a triumph for many, which means it is well worth considering smaller-scale estates alongside the top names. Cabernet wines were noted for their excellent ripeness. Drinking well now; should have plenty of years left in them.
Rating: 5/5 Left Bank | 5/5 Right Bank
2005 Chateau La Lagune - June 2015 review by Robert Parker / Wine Advocate:
"A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, the 2005 is a gorgeous La Lagune, and one of the greatest ones they've made from a great vintage year.
This wine has a dense ruby/purple color, a beautiful nose of sandalwood, black raspberries, and cassis, silky sweet tannin, medium to full body, and a textured, long mouthfeel and finish.
This wine is probably 3-4 years away from prime-time drinking, but it should evolve gorgeously for another 20-25 years."
