What if one of the most unique and sought-after type ratings could be yours? This package offers the rare opportunity to acquire a Second-in-Command (SIC) type rating at the controls of a WWII bomber made famous by Gen. Jimmy Doolittle in the "Doolittle Tokyo Raid." You will get this rating added to your pilot certificate by receiving eight hours of ground school instruction and three hours of dual instruction.

During your training, you will also learn about the history of the North American B-25 Mitchell medium bomber and its many roles in WWII. Experience the thrill and sound of both Curtis Wright R-2600 engines developing 3400 horsepower during take-off. Feel the controls as you guide this beautiful piece of history through the skies. The SIC course will include a ground school, flight training in the B-25 Berlin Express, training materials to include checklists, pilot's operating handbook, course outline, and much more. Students who successfully complete the training will receive an ICAO SIC type rating on their pilot certificate.

Value: $16,000

Note: Winning bidder must be current as a multi-engine instrument rated pilot, possess a tailwheel endorsement, and possess a valid third-class medical. Recent large multi-engine experience is not mandatory, but highly recommended. There is no guarantee, expressed or implied, with regard to successfully receiving the ICAO B-25 SIC type rating in the allotted time. If additional instruction is necessary, it is available to the student at a rate of $3,500/hour.

Winning bidder will receive eight hours of ground school instruction with EAA's ground school instructor and three hours of dual instruction with EAA's CFII, MEI, B-25 type-rated instructor. Training will occur on a mutually agreed upon date in 2023.
