St. Louis Arena Blue Print

Oh When the Blues Go Marching In!

  • Some of us are old enough to remember so many wonderful times in "The ARENA"! Here is a 2' x 3' wood framed copy of the 1934 blueprint plans for this famous building at 5700 Oakland Ave. viewed from the North Elevation. It contains the Seating Plan, a Cross Section, with a list of Arena Firsts, Outlines of the Parking Lots, and even the Owners Apartment on the very top of the roof which blew away in a tornado in 1959.
  • St. Louis Arena (known as the Checkerdome from 1977 to 1983) was an indoor arena in St. Louis, Missouri. The country's second-largest indoor entertainment venue when it opened in 1929. Home to the St. Louis Blues and other sports franchises. The Arena sat across I-64 from Forest Park's Aviation Field.
