Medium: watercolor and acrylic

Artist Statement: When sharing this piece with my mom, who is still undergoing chemotherapy for her battle with breast cancer, I said, "Maybe I should have chosen a different subject. Some of this is just a dirty road." She said, "Sometimes in the country, you go down a dirty road." As soon as she said it, I knew this piece symbolizes the road we wouldn't have chosen, and the wheat stands for my mom's radiant defiance, making and sharing her art, inspiring us all that, in spite of it all, hope grows.

Piece Details: Piece is 11" x 14" (8.5" x 11" without frame) and set in a white matte and white frame with glass. Frame is pre-set to hang horizontally.
