PLAYFUL FACTS

Alexandra's Playground works to bring the Gift of Play into the daily lives of children, especially those growing up in underserved neighborhoods. We are committed to creating safe environments for children to strengthen their bodies and minds.

Established in 2009 to commemorate the life of Alexandra Vitale, Michael and Andrea Vitale's young daughter, the organization aims to positively impact the world as we know she would have. Embracing Alexandra's spirit of play, we focus our efforts on supporting opportunities for safe and active play throughout childhood. Children who engage in active play grow up more physically, emotionally, and cognitively healthy.

Our initiatives have reached more than 30,000 children and their families - in the tri-state NY-NJ-CT area, across the US, in Haiti, and Afghanistan. This spring we will build our 34th playground.
