From our Heritage Series, get your hands on some of the finest weaving in the world!

Made of Palma de Guerre, and traditional of the ancient community of Wounaan, these baskets are a collector's dream.

The women weavers of the Wounaan tribe, as well as many of the Emberá tribe of the Darien region of Panama are arguably creators of the finest handmade baskets in the world. This exquisite art form has developed over the years evolving from their age-old hösig di (the term for chunga palm baskets in Wounmeo, the language of the Wounaan) baskets made from the split, young leaves of the culturally important chunga palm and which then is coloured with natural dyes.

Includes two medium sized baskets with butterfly motifs.

PLEASE NOTE: To make check out easier at the event, all winning bid charges will be applied to the registered credit card at the moment of closing (8:30 PM on June 4th).
