Enjoy a three night stay at a winter or summer backcountry heaven! The Polar Star Inn is a unique backcountry cabin located on the edge of the Holy Cross Wilderness between Vail and Eagle. Part of the world-famous 10th Mountain Division Hut System, it boasts incredible views, 19 beds, year-round running water, a 10 person wood-burning sauna, and the opportunity to reinvigorate your soul.

The Inn, built in 1987, is located just below timberline at 11,040' on the west side of New York Mountain, in central Colorado on the edge of the Holy Cross Wilderness. It offers access to excellent skiing on New York Mountain, which rises just above the hut to 12,504 ft. Summer access by hike, bike or high clearance 4WD. Winter access by ski, or unfortunately, snowmobile or snowshoes.

Whether you're a hut veteran or looking to experience this Colorado treasure for the first time, here is your chance to soak it all in. Winter or summer dates available, so come ski, fish, hike, bike, or just unwind in the mountains. It is also possible to switch for the 6-person Seipel Hut, located in proximity to the Polar Star, for a more intimate experience. Same amenities and slightly more availability.
